About ReWorld

What We Do

Scale global conservation

ReWorld helps conservation organizations scale globally, empowering them to protect our planet and its biodiversity.

High-impact NGO funding

First and foremost, we provide conservation non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with ethical short- and long-term financing. We also provide them with an open-source tool that leverages AI to make work faster and more efficient.

Trusted carbon offsets

We help businesses actively pursuing sustainability find and purchase trusted carbon offsets, ensuring conservation organizations receive the funding to scale and save the planet.

Our Mission

Protect the world's most vulnerable ecosystems

ReWorld is committed to protecting and conserving our natural resources and the complex, vulnerable ecosystems that keep our planet thriving. We are aligned with the 30x30 target of the Global Biodiversity Framework, calling for protecting and managing 30% of global biodiversity (terrestrial, inland water, and coastal and marine areas) by the year 2030. At our heart, we believe that biodiversity conservation is essential to the healthy functioning of our planet’s ecosystems and the survival of the human species. The threats to this system are multi-pronged, and we are building programs and partnerships to scale conservation, including helping companies purchase carbon credits and ensuring conservation organizations have funding to save the planet.

Our History

In 2021, ReWorld’s founders met at On Deck Climate Tech and discovered a shared passion for biodiversity. This intergenerational, globally diverse leadership team combined skill sets — tech entrepreneurship and angel investments, sustainability and corporate leadership, and machine learning development — to create a systemic approach to funding conservation NGOs.

They launched ReWorld to help Proyecto Titi purchase 956 acres of degraded forest in Colombia to expand the habitat of the endangered Cotton-Top Tamarins and over 600 species of flora and fauna.

The partnership helped raise the $1.2M to acquire the land by creating the world’s first community-funded tropical forest. The ReWorld and Proyecto Titi partnership was endorsed by Dr. Jane Goodall and featured in global media outlets, including CNN and Mongabay.

Following this success, ReWorld expanded its sites to longer-term ethical financing for NGOs to scale conservation and protect this planet’s biodiversity for future generations.

“Every hectare of forest that we protect gives us hope for the future of primates like the Cotton-top tamarins, and for other animals in the amazingly biodiverse forests of northern Colombia where they live. It also gives us hope for our own future!”

Our Team

Co-Founders

Christie Burley

Christie is a sustainability expert, specializing in conservation, decarbonization, and regulation. She has worked for the UNEP, international non-profits, multiple organizations in the private sector, and in academia. Christie is a WEF Global Shaper based in Washington D.C. and an avid environmental enthusiast. Christie met Prudhvi and Chris through On Deck Climate Tech (ODCT).

Prudhvi Dharmana

Prudhvi is an experienced machine learning developer and has been working with non-profits in conservation for years. After meeting at OnDeck, Chris and Prudhvi agreed to take ReWorld from idea to reality. They created a platform that would enable anyone, anywhere in the world, to collaborate with thousands, even millions of others, and easily make a measurable difference in conservation and climate change. He also worked on policies to put a price on carbon.

Chris Vargas

Chris is a Silicon Valley based tech entrepreneur, early stage angel investor and passionate climate supporter. Chris has been supporting Proyecto Titi since 2004 and through that relationship developed a deep understanding and appreciation of Proyecto Titi's vision to acquire, restore and preserve this Colombian tropical forest. He also knew Proyecto Titi would need significant capital to realize this vision so in 2021 he set about to make this possible by founding ReWorld.
