Reimagining Conservation: ReWorld’s Impact on Nature in 2023
As the curtain closes on 2023, we at ReWorld couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride looking back on the incredible year we shared with you. Fueled by the unwavering dedication of our incredible volunteers, we embarked on a mission to empower individuals across the globe to become heroes for the vulnerable cotton-top tamarin.
Aligned with the ambitious 30x30 Initiative, a global effort to protect 30% of the Earth’s land and oceans by 2030, we joined forces with the renowned Proyecto Tití. Together, we set our sights on a crucial goal: reforesting and safeguarding over 950 acres of Colombian rainforest, the cotton-top’s precious habitat. We set an ambitious fundraising target of $1.2 million to fuel this vital mission.
Our Victorious Moments
The past year has been packed with milestones, both big and small.
One of those milestones was being featured on CNN with our project gaining global recognition, amplifying our impact, and inspiring others to join our fight for conservation. In April, we gathered with our donors to dive deeper into the impactful work happening in Colombia. At the event, Rosamira Guillen Monroy, founder of Fundación Proyecto Tití, shared how ReWorld is protecting cotton-top tamarins, preserving forests, educating children, and fostering economic growth through job creation. It was a night of gratitude, connection, and renewed inspiration.
An Evening with Rosamira Guillen Monroy
In June, we joined forces with the iconic outdoor brand Patagonia to host events and plan a larger in-store collaboration to boost visibility and connect with eco-conscious consumers in Palo Alto, California.
Our story was also featured on Mongabay and into the ears of listeners on the “Good Together” podcast.

Building Momentum Together
While our big wins are great to reflect on, it’s the little victories and our community that bring collective action to life. We recently marked another year since ReWorld’s founding, acknowledging the tireless efforts of our volunteer team and supporters.
Rosamira Guillen Monroy, a champion of Fundación Proyecto Tití, captivated the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) Expo with her passionate presentation on the vital role of the cotton-top tamarin. She also explained the intricate community-based approach to their conservation. We also had a fruitful discussion with the Lion Recovery Fund, another WCN non-profit, exploring ways to learn from each other and engage diverse stakeholders in our respective journeys.
After all the hard work this year, we’ve made amazing progress — we have reached 85% of our $1.2 million fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of our donors. We’re closer than ever to securing this vital piece of land for future generations. A special thanks to some of our biggest supporters — The Leaky Foundation, Eko, Google, Liz Claiborne Foundation, and Dry Creek Foundation.

Join the Movement
While all of this has been an incredible journey so far, there’s still an urgent challenge before us. We have just a few days remaining to prevent the irreversible loss of a biodiverse land that holds great value for our planet.
We invite you to share the idea of gifting acres of this unique tropical forest with friends and family. Not only is this a thoughtful gift, but an impactful one as tropical forests are renowned for their exceptional carbon sequestration capabilities and their rich biodiversity. Here’s how you can be a part of the solution:
Spread the word: Tell your friends, family, and colleagues about ReWorld and our mission. Encourage them to join the movement by purchasing acres of rainforest or sharing our story.
Donate again: Every acre you contribute brings us closer to securing this vital forest. Consider gifting acres as a unique and impactful holiday present.
Follow us on social media: Stay up-to-date on our progress, share our posts, and help us reach a wider audience.
Together, we can make a lasting difference in biodiversity and conservation. Your continued support is invaluable in securing a sustainable future for our planet. Let’s continue to soar together for a greener, healthier planet in 2024 and beyond!
